and the President’s Council On Physical Fitness
Have partnered in the first annual
SKATE A MILLION MILES event
to help promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.
The President’s Council On Physical Fitness
is a program
that was started in the 60’s by President Dwight Eisenhower.

This national event kicks off March 20, 2008 and runs through May 15, 2008,
and is for kids 12 years and younger.
Participating is easy! Sign up FREE here at Cal Skate Milpitas. You’ll be given a punch card and a wrist band. Every time you come skating, present your punch card.
After you have received 4 punches, the fifth time you come skating will be FREE!
The first four participants to complete this challenge will receive a
commemorative t-shirt,
& the first 50 participants that complete the Skate A Million Miles program
will receive a certificate of completion with the official Presidential Seal!
Roller skating is a great way to burn calories!
The average person burns 350 calories by skating 6 miles an hour!
This number increases to 600 if the person averages 10 miles an hour!
That’s the basic equivalent of calories burned while jogging!
Roller skating is also recommended by the American Heart Association as an
aerobic fitness sport. |
